Capstone Project

As a part of our capstone course, we were tasked with coming up with an unmet need that could be solved with a novel science-based or biotechnology-backed product. Once this product was created, our team developed a complete Business Model Canvas by performing voice of customer and key opinion leader interviews to understand customer archetypes and channels, and understanding the key partners, activities, and resources needed to put the product on the market. My group's product is a supplemental treat to help prevent periodontal disease in cats. The formula includes a patented technology used to neutralize the pathogenic bacteria in the oral microbiome, and prebiotics to empower the beneficial bacteria. Read below to follow along with the development of our business plan.

Project Update 01

In the first part of the project, we focused in determining the unmet need and value proposition through scientific research and interviews from veterinarians and pet owners.

In the second part of our project, we completed market research and voice of customer outreach to understand the best ways to reach customers through channels and relationships.

In the third part of our project, we focused on developing our key resources, activities, and partners. We identified potential options for each through interviews and research.

In the fourth part of our project, we focused on creating a cost structure and revenue stream. This was done through surveys and additional interviews.
